The new album project “COPINGMECHANISM” by American singer Willow Camille Reign Smith, better known by her stage name Willow, was leaked online.
Pop-punk hits are what Willow will bring back. Only a year after making a pop-punk comeback, she is already writing new music, and lately I feel EVERYTHING.
The cover art and release date for CopingMechanism were disclosed on Thursday. Release day for the album is set for September 23, 2022. “Hover like a GODDESS,” Smith’s newest song, will be released on Friday.
CopingMechanism will be based on angsty, well-liked pop-punk and emo sounds, but this time, the “punk” component received more attention. The majority of its songs had catchy hooks and sharp guitar riffs, making them radio-friendly and upbeat.
Although they are heavier and more emo, Smith’s new songs are just as good (take a listen to “Maybe It’s My Fault”). The song “Maybe It’s My Fault” ends in yelling mayhem. Siiickbrain is featured on the new album’s song “Purge.” The song is scream-filled. Smith’s deep, guttural voice might soon be heard on another song. Summer wild?
Smith’s heavier musical choice is reasonable. Smith admitted to preferring classic rock over “pure metal and punk” to Rolling Stone at this year’s Lollapalooza. Smith used to listen to both genres. I like old rock, she admitted to RS.
