Taylor Swift surprised fans in Nashville with a surprise performance of “Mastermind” and “All Too Well.”
While accepting the Nashville Songwriters Association’s Songwriter-Artist of the Decade award, Superstar discusses her three writing styles.
“Mastermind” is the final track by Midnights. In a TikTok game from 2022, she revealed the song’s title and track number.
Taylor Swift shocked fans on Tuesday night. Those in attendance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium heard a 10-minute version of “All Too Well,” while those online learned the name of a new song. Swift’s album Midnights will be released on October 21.
Swift made the announcement on TikTok at midnight as part of Midnights Mayhem With Me. Swift chose one of 13 ping-pong balls from a bingo ball cage, the same number as the songs on her album. The Number 13 ball appeared as the singer picked up a red phone to reveal the title.
The Nashville Songwriters Association International honored Swift with the Songwriter-Artist of the Decade award. In her speech, the superstar mentioned songwriting. She mentioned that she fantasizes about writing Quill Lyrics, Fountain Pen Lyrics, and Glitter Gel Pen Lyrics. Swift also talked about the 10-minute version of “All Too Well” and her desire to “bounce around the musical worlds of my various sonic influences.”
She sang “All Too Well” with emotion, just like she did on Saturday Night Live last November. Swift’s “Red” was released in 2012. The lyrics to Red (Taylor’s Version) have been updated.
She first mentioned Midnights at the MTV Video Music Awards. She later described it as “a collection of music written in the middle of the night.”
