Norwegian electronic music duo from Tromsø formed in 1998, Röyksopp unreleased new song “Oh, Lover” feat. Susanne Sundför off forthcoming album project “Profound Mysteries II ” leaked online.
“Profound Mysteries” will be published on August 19. It will incorporate “recurring themes like love and loss, sadness, and reconciliation” and a “esoteric tribute to early artists and genres”
Berge: “We focus on “the mystery,” which sounds pompous.
We added “depth” to seem more pompous. In “part two,” we cover the genres and artists that influenced us as kids.
“Listen carefully for the heavy allusions. Our music has always had this, but it’s more noticeable today. It’s an homage, not a copy. Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Italo Disco, and ’90s UK rave will be represented.
Due to COVID’s problems and logistical constraints, Berge intends to make next live shows as “immersive as possible.”
“We had to make some changes and shuffle things about, but I feel we still have something incredibly great that focuses on the whole, immersive experience, rather than saying, ‘OK, here’s our next song.'” “We’re leaning toward an A-to-Z immersive experience inspired by Kraftwerk.”
Berge was hopeful about upcoming shows in the UK, Europe, and worldwide.
“We’ve tried to do something outside of Scandinavia, and I hope we can before Christmas,” he remarked. Otherwise, early next year.” “It looks bad and isn’t finished, but we must find a solution.”
