A troll account claiming to be a former employee targeted Nicki. The genuine individual whose photographs were exploited has come forward.
Someone claiming to work for Nicki Minaj went on the internet this week and circulated “tea” about the artist. The social media profiles were created under the name “Kate Miller,” and a headshot picture of a white, blonde lady was utilized as the profile photo. The person behind the accounts, however, said that “Kate Miller” was a fictitious name and that the picture was obtained from the internet. After receiving comments from all around the globe, the genuine lady in the photo appeared on Twitter today (August 3).
First and foremost, her true name is Megan Bettencourt, and she has said that she has never worked for Nicki Minaj.
“Thank you to everyone who informed me that a bogus account was using my photo to disparage @NICKIMINAJ. Make sure your privacy settings are turned off for everyone!” She said, “To be clear, I never worked as Nicki Minaj’s “ex-assistant.” Someone grabbed a photo of me and posted it on a bogus account. I didn’t expect to be in @Newsweek because of a forged identity, but fraudsters will swindle.”
Minaj responded to Bettencourt’s comments as soon as she saw them. “You know what I mean, TF? [laughing sobbing emojis] Well, let me know if you ever need a job. I’m sorry. But, hey, congratulations to Newsweek! [frowning emoji] I suppose there’s always a bright side [goofy face emoji]? [disappointed emoji]”
Minaj went on Livestream to reject the false “Kate Miller” charges against her, her husband Kenneth Petty, Drake, Lil Wayne, and others. The rapper also questioned how so many people could be “stupid” enough to believe this troll.
