The artist is set to tell his most personal story yet on his second full-length album, All 4 Nothing. “The record is about the dying of a dream I was pursuing and waking up to realize that dream was already there,” Lauv explains.
He is the master of pop-bop songwriting, and his catalog of clever yet uncomplicated melodies and successes is already too lengthy to enumerate. So much so that when their new album “All 4 Nothing” raises the stakes, it seems to be unfair to the other bands.
Most people can’t write cheerful, peppy songs that don’t get caught in your throat, but “All 4 Nothing (I’m So In Love)” never seems too sweet. “Kids Are Born Stars” exudes confidence, but “26” may be more contemplative and discuss growing older in an open, sensitive manner.
His full-length first album, “How I’m Feeling,” which went gold, charted in the Top 20 of the Billboard Top 200 in 2020. This resulted in Lauv selling out headlining tours and stadium openings for Ed Sheeran, as well as appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! , James Corden’s Late Late Show, and others.
As the global pandemic hit, Lauv was still writing songs in his home studio and found himself at a crossroads. Lauv is best known for his breakout hit “I Like Me Better”; included in his compilation album I Met You When I Was 18, which was released in 2018.
