The announcement came less than a week before the three-day festival’s opening.
Those wanting to see Kanye West perform at Rolling Loud Miami this weekend will be dismayed to learn that the 45-year-old has been replaced by one of his former closest buddies.
Kid Cudi took to Twitter on Sunday (July 17) afternoon to unveil a new show poster. It featured him, Future, and Kendrick Lamar as the headliners for Hard Rock Stadium’s three days of music. “RAGER BOY COMING,” he captioned the exciting news.
The “Mr. Rager” artist’s tweet generated confusion since Rolling Loud’s official account hadn’t mentioned the transition yet, but they did on their own social media channels shortly after.
“Ye will no longer be appearing at Rolling Loud Miami 2022 due to circumstances beyond our control,” organizers stated on Instagram. “Hello, @kidcudi!”
“Tried to get Ye to remain on the lineup, but he wasn’t having it,” co-founder and co-CEO said in the comments section.
Other responses indicate that some consumers are plainly dissatisfied. “No one wanted Cudi,” one user stated. “At the very least, they should have given us Travis Scott.”
Some are disappointed that Ye is no longer on the list, while many are relieved that Kodak Black’s name is still on it after his arrest in Florida this weekend.
Gunna’s name has also remained on Saturday’s lineup, which is unusual given that he has been imprisoned for weeks and will remain there until the end of 2022.
