British-American singer and ongwriter James Blake has rhas unveiled an ethereal new song, “Pick Me Up,” off the upcoming soundtrack to the newest season of the hit HBO show, Euphoria.

James Blake first received recognition for a series of 2010 EPs including CMYK and Klavierwerke, and he released his self-titled debut album in 2011 to critical praise. The delicate track, which features an appearance by British singer-songwriter Labrinth, sees Blake fantasizing about running away with a love interest. “I have packed my bags and I am ready,” the singer intones. “I’m ready to go/Just take me anywhere.”

Euphoria Season 2 (An HBO Original Series Soundtrack), which arrives on Feb. 25 via Interscope in partnership with HBO, will also include Tove Lo’s “How Long” and Lana Del Rey’s “Watercolor Eyes.”

Euphoria — which stars Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney — has previously partnered with musicians to debut new music on the show. Last year, the show featured “Lo Vas a Olvidar,” a collaboration between Billie Eilish and Rosalía. Labrinth serves as the show’s lead composer, and received an Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the song “All for Us” in 2020.

The singer’s second album Overgrown was released in 2013, bringing him to international attention, and later was awarded the Mercury Prize. He’s primarily considered a dubstep producer and is frequently heralded as a leading figure in the post-dubstep community, but he is also noted for his prominent soul influences.

Blake’s most recent album, Friends That Break Your Heart, arrived last fall. The album, which Blake described as a concept album, features appearances from SZA, JID, SwaVay, and Monica Martin.

As of December 2020, Blake has released four studio albums and eight EPs. After receiving recognition for a string of EP’s in 2010 (The Bells Sketch, CMYK, and Klavierwerke), Blake released his debut self-titled LP James Blake via his record label ATLAS on February 4, 2011, which was met with universal critical acclaim. On October 10, 2011 Blake released a deluxe edition of the album which contained his Enough Thunder EP, before releasing Love What Happened Here EP to round out a breakthrough year.

Blake received further critical acclaim when he dropped his second LP Overgrown on April 5, 2013. His sixth EP 200 Press was released in December 2014. His third album The Colour in Anything saw release on May 6, 2016 with his fourth Assume Form following on January 18, 2019. The latter became Blake’s highest charting album to date, peaking at 21 on the US Billboard 200. Both albums were released by Polydor Records Ltd.

In 2020 Blake released the Before EP and a Covers EP. He has been know to go by the moniker Harmonimix when producing and orchestrating remixes, such as this track with rapper Trim. Blake is the son of singer/guitarist James Litherland, founding member of the prog-rock band Colosseum and solo artist in his own right.

In 2016, Blake released his third album The Colour in Anything and his fourth album Assume Form in 2019, both receiving positive reviews and the latter becoming his highest-peaking album in the US Billboard 200, at number 21.

Blake released his fifth album, Friends That Break Your Heart on 8 October 2021, alongside the release of its lead single “Say What You Will” and a video featuring Finneas. The 12-track album includes features from SZA, JID, Slowthai, SwaVay, and Monica Martin.
