FLO have announced that their first EP will be out this week.
The R&B group’s first album, called “The Lead,” comes out this Friday, July 8.
“Surpriseee! We are so excited to say that The Lead EP will be out THIS FRIDAY, August 7, 2022! We hope you like it as much as we do. Yesterday, the band wrote on Twitter, “Can’t wait to give you more pre-save pre-save pre-save” (July 6).
The EP has five songs: “Cardboard Box,” “Immature,” “Summertime,” “Feature Me,” and “Another Guy (acoustic).”
The London-based band is made up of Renée, Stella, and Jorja. They talked to NME Radar earlier this year about their career goals and their viral hit “Cardboard Box,” which was produced by MNEK, who was nominated for a Grammy Award.
When NME asked Stella what it was like to work with the Dua Lipa collaborator, she said, “It was more about watching him do his job and learning from him.” He wanted us to write and sing the best songs we could. He’s also Jorja’s main source of inspiration!”
“I look up to him because he’s so talented and humble,” Jorja said. Some writers have taken over sessions and done what they wanted, but he doesn’t. He lets us decide how the music sounds. When he asks us what we think about something, we say, “Of course, it’s great!”
When asked about the group’s future, Renée said, “Since there aren’t many girl groups right now, we have a chance to make music that people can relate to and feel, and to bring back that sound.” We want to fill arenas to capacity and just take over!”
