American rapper, rapper, singer, and songwriter from Houston, Texas, Caleb Zackery “Don” Toliver unreleased 2019 song “Hurry (Proud Of Me)” surface online..
“Hurry (Proud Of Me)” was written and recorded in 2019 before Don’s studio album Heaven or Hell came out. A sneak peek of it was shown in an Apple Music documentary.
In May 2017, he started making music by putting out a mixtape with his friend and fellow rapper Yungjosh93 called Playa Familia.
Just a few months later, Don Toliver made his solo debut with the songs “I Gotta” and “Diva,” which came out in November and December, respectively. Atlantic Records heard the singles quickly and signed Toliver to the label in March 2018. Donny Womack was his first album for a major label, and it was released by Atlantic.
Travis Scott, who is also from Houston, heard Toliver’s tape and asked the young rapper to come to Hawaii to work on a song for his then-upcoming third studio album, ASTROWORLD. Toliver eagerly accepted, and the sessions led to him being on Travis Scott’s album’s thirteenth track, “CAN’T SAY.” They also made him want to record a lot of songs for Donny Womack.
In August 2018, Don Toliver put out Donny Womack, his first mixtape on a major label.
