The unreleased album project of American DJ, record executive, author, and record producer Khaled Mohammed Khaled, better known as DJ Khaled, has apparently leaked online.
DJ Khaled has announced his 13th studio album, titled “God Did.” DJ Khaled knows how to get people excited about his new music.
The famous DJ and producer has been teasing us about his new album for the past few months, giving us several updates and confirming that Drake will be on one of the singles (there’s a video for it, too). Earlier this week, he told his fans on social media that he would be announcing something big on Wednesday.
Khaled comes through on time with the news that the name of his new album will be “God Did.” Well, that’s not a surprise since he’s been using that phrase everywhere he can. “I made this album for everyone, whether they believe in God or not. They didn’t trust us. Do you?” Khaled said while making the title announcement.
God Did will be the follow-up to his last album, Khaled Khaled, which came out in April of last year and debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 93k copies in the first week.
Khaled was born in New Orleans, but he lives and works in Miami. He started out in the music business as a circuit DJ, hosted shows on the Miami radio station WEDR, and was the official DJ for the Terror Squad.
Khaled’s first album, Listennn… the Album, came out in 2006, after he had spent years building relationships with famous artists. Since then, he has put out nine more studio albums. His tenth, Grateful, came out on June 23, 2017.
Khaled started his own record label, We the Best Music Group, in 2008. It is now an imprint of Epic Records, but it used to be a part of Def Jam South and Cash Money Records. Khaled was named President of Def Jam South in 2009, and he held that job until 2012.
Khaled has become a super-star thanks to his ability to come up with catchphrases and deliver “Major Keys” to the social media masses. Some of these “Keys” are asking his lion statuette for blessings, using cocoa butter, and getting a massage once a week. His Snapchat stories are well-known, and each one gets an average of 2 million views.
Khaled is currently signed to Epic Records, and Jay Z and his company Roc Nation Management are in charge of his career.
