American DJ, record executive, author, and record producer Khaled Mohammed Khaled, better known as DJ Khaled, unreleased new song “Bills Paid” featuring Latto & City Girls, off forthcoming album project “God Did” leaked online.
For a few months, the famous DJ and producer has been teasing us about his new album, providing several updates and confirming that Drake will be on one of the singles (there will also be a video for it). He told his social media followers earlier this week that he would make a big announcement on Wednesday.
Khaled informs us that his new album will be titled “God Did.” That’s not surprising given how much he’s been using that phrase. “Everyone, whether they believe in God or not, can enjoy this album. They didn’t have faith in us. Do you?” Khaled stated as he announced the title.
God Did will be his follow-up to Khaled Khaled, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in April of last year after selling 93,000 copies in its first week.
Khaled was born in New Orleans, but he now calls Miami home. He began his career in music as a circuit DJ. He also hosted shows on the Miami radio station WEDR and was the Terror Squad’s official DJ.
Khaled’s debut album was Listennn… the Album. It was released in 2006, after he had spent years getting to know famous musicians. Since then, he has released nine more studio albums.
In 2008, Khaled founded his own record label, We the Best Music Group. It is now an imprint of Epic Records, but it was previously associated with Def Jam South and Cash Money Records. In 2009, Khaled was named President of Def Jam South, a position he held until 2012.
Khaled has become a superstar because he can create catchy lyrics and get “Major Keys” out to a large number of people via social media. Some of these “Keys” include praying to the lion statuette, using cocoa butter, and getting a massage once a week. His Snapchat stories are well-known, with each receiving an average of 2 million views.
Khaled is currently signed to Epic Records, and his career is overseen by Jay Z and Roc Nation Management.
