American rapper and singer, Cordae Amari Dunston known mononymously as Cordae, has released a new song titled “Multi-Platinum” Prod. By Kid Culture.

The rapper raps honestly over a trumpet-heavy beat made by Kid Culture. He talks about how artists who grew up in bad places can be taken advantage of by the music business. And then, a lot of the time, the music business makes things worse for those artists.

“Lack of self-esteem, lack of identity, was his name/Unlimited potential that was wasted, it’s such a shame/Another statistic, it’s so horrible, this fucking game/Left this music shit with only crumbs, there was nothing gained,” he raps. Check out the song down below.

Cordae’s second album, From A Bird’s Eye View, came out earlier this year. He recently said that it wasn’t as good as his first album, The Lost Boy. He says that he will do better in his next time.

Cordae gained popularity by releasing remixes of popular songs, such as “My Name Is” by Eminem, and “Old Niggas”, which was a response to the song “1985” by J. Cole.

His “My Name Is” remix, which received over two million views on WORLDSTARHIPHOP in two weeks, helped him get popularity. His second single, “Old Niggas,” was a reaction to J Cole’s “1985” and quickly surpassed 3 million views on Worldstar in less than a week.

Between 2014 and 2017, Cordae produced three mixtapes under his previous moniker, and in late 2018, he collaborated on a mixtape with the YBN group. The Lost Boy, his first album, was released on July 26, 2019.

Cordae eliminated the YBN from his name on August 14, 2020, becoming simply Cordae. From a Birds Eye View, his sophomore album, was released on January 14, 2022.
