Cardi B’s Invasion Of Privacy record was released years ago, but her presence has been felt throughout the time she’s been gone to care for her children.
She’s kept hot between album releases with massive singles like ‘WAP’ and ‘Up,’ as well as other appearances like on the ‘No Love’ remix, but now it could be time for the long-awaited sophomore album, which has already been delayed quite a bit.
To begin, Cardi B releases her new track ‘Hot Sh*t’ after a handful of teases on social media. Tay Keith produced it, and it includes Hip-Hop giants Lil Durk and Kanye West. It’s attempting to be the summer anthem that many believe will not be heard this year.
Cardi said to Zane Lowe on Apple Music that she was both delighted and worried about the single’s debut. “Kanye gave me this verse a few of months ago when he was just all over the headlines, because of all of the things that were going on, and I like how his verse it’s personal, but it’s not too personal,” she said of working with Kanye on the song. It’s fun at the clubs because you can say, “Yeah, yeah. You speak big money.” It’s fantastic. And I’m grateful he gave me this poem. I also had several chats with Kanye West. I learnt a lot about him, and he’s a wonderful, nice guy. I’ve been thinking that I wish more people had discussions with him so they could see the real…him.”
She also said that the addition of Lil Durk was the label’s idea. “Do you know what’s crazy? I’ve never spoken to Lil Durk, right? I was in a meeting with my label and everything, and I thought to myself, “It’s lacking something.” We’re still lacking an artist.” “How about Lil Durk?” it said. “Yeah, yeah,” I say. Okay, OK. Please forward it to him.” And the following day, maybe a couple of hours after they submitted the record, they were like, “Oh yes, he sent in the verse.” “Oh s**t,” I thought. And I fell in love with it straight immediately. He really wanted to bring that youthful vitality to the album.”
Cardi B stated that shortly after ‘Hot H*t,’ she will release another track that will sound different from the first. She will then begin working on the record.
