Renaissance, Beyoncé’s first album in six years, will be released in less than 24 hours.
The first song, “Break My Soul,” was published earlier this summer and has remained popular on TikTok, DSPs, and radio. However, everything changed yesterday after the record was out. The timeline began to show download links, and European fans were supposedly able to purchase physical copies two days before the release date.
Act 1: Renaissance’s leaked liner notes provide further information about Beyoncé’s future plans, after speculation that she was working on two more albums. “This three-act play was recorded over the course of three years throughout the outbreak,” she says in the thank you notes. A time to be still, but also to be creative.” Though no date has been set for the release of the remaining two albums, it seems like Beyoncé will release a trilogy of albums in the near future.
In the liner notes, Beyoncé also thanks her three children, Rumi, Sir, and Blue, for “providing me that space, creativity, and inspiration.” Jay-Z, her “great spouse and inspiration,” was also thanked for “holding me down during those late hours in the studio.”

This three-act play was recorded during a three-year period during the pandemic. It was a time to be still, yet it was also a moment when I was most creative.
Creating this CD provided me with a safe haven to fantasize and escape at a dangerous time for the world. It provided me with a feeling of freedom and adventure when nothing else was moving. My goal was to establish a safe haven. This is a no-judgment zone. A haven from perfectionism and overanalysis. A place where you may shout, let go, and feel free. It was a great adventure of discovery.
I’d like to thank Rumi, Sir, and Blue for providing me with the necessary space, creativity, and inspiration, as well as my beautiful spouse and muse, who held me down during those late hours in the studio. Uncle Jonny, thank you very much. He was my godmother, and he was the one who initially introduced me to a lot of the music and culture that inspired this album. Thank you to all the cultural trailblazers and fallen angels whose contributions have gone unrecognized for far too long. This is a unique opportunity for you. Thank you to my Parkwood team, Dream, and all of the fantastic producers that participated. I love you, Mama. My father, grandpa, and first teacher, you inspire me in every step I take. I really love you.
My lovers, I hope you like this song. I hope it inspires you to let go of your wiggle! And to be as unique, strong, and attractive as you are.
